Project Description

When I was under the mentorship of Dusty Baker, owner of Dusty Crete and creative genius behind the marbling effect and finish of custom concrete furniture, I had the honor of working with him on a huge project for Church and Union Bar in downtown Nashville. We were contracted to create this piece by Certified Construction Services.

To have the opportunity to work with a mentor like Dusty and also cut my teeth on a project of this scale was humbling. This is where I found my passion for combining a timeless product like concrete with artistry and design.

This L shaped bar top was over 12 feet long and weighed more than 750 pounds. The entire project was completed in the studio and delivered for installation at the bar in Spring 2021.

Besties put away the winter depressies, feeling creative again.
I kept busy with this back in the beginning of January. It was a challenging one not just cause it was freezing out 🥶 but also because the client wanted to see different color options, after striking out with a few colors, they went with my original suggestion to go with “Leather”😅. I’ve never worked so fast in my life! Anyway, thankful that I was able to collaborate on a cool concept such as this one. 200+ square feet of hard surface in less than 4 weeks💪🏽🔥

Better late than never. Thank you, thank you for the support I received in 2022. This year really surprised me with the projects I had the privilege of being a part of. It’s amazing that I did very little advertising; something I hope to dial in more in this coming up year.
But the truth is, I’ve always had this little voice in my head alerting me that I don’t wanna over-load with work and sacrifice quality. I’d say I did just that, but I’m looking forward to refining my process, and getting into a bigger studio to be more efficient.
This year thought me the importance of community and building strong relationships with the builders, architects and homeowners that have given me the chance. So with that I’d like to mention @dancerconcretedesign , @onconcretedesign, @emergent_indy @thetileexpressllc and VisionIV. All of which have sent work my way. I value your referrals, and continued business.

I also cannot forget to mention the homeowners and friends that have shown me support through words of encouragement or just showing my work to whoever. There is times when y’all remind me of just what I’ve accomplished so far. Sitting at home with a cold realizing how often I take an able body for granted🤒

Circumnavigated #laketahoe in 11 grueling days. Wild fires in the distance, chipmunks with rabies and tendinitis on my ankle on day 8. GOOD TIMES. Trips like this one are good for remembering times when you thought about quitting something difficult, but didn’t. I remember being at mile 80 wondering how the hell i was gonna make it. It’s simple, take the next step.
